FM14 – How to get the German National Team to use real players. Football Manager 2014

FM14 – How to get the German National Team to use real players. Football Manager 2014

If you like me have just got the BETA for Footy Manager 2014 (Football Manager 2014) then you will surely want to have the game set up to have all the features you expect. Unfortunately one of the main bugs with me is that it doesn’t have the German National Team.  Well it does but they use fake players.  So if you sign Gotze, Schurrle, Ozil or any other German national they will never play for their country.  Here is the fix….

you need to navigate to

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 2014\data\db\1400\lnc\all

or the equivalent on your machine.

I used Steam to get the game but there should be a folder like this in your “Football Manager 2014″ folder in “Programs Files”.

once inside you need to change the “1″ to “0″ in the 3 sections below.  This will allow German players to play for Germany and also allow pictures for these countries.

# “FAKE_NATIONAL_TEAM” “Nation Unique ID” “1/0 – On/Off”
# “CHANGE_PLAYER_NAME” “Person Unique ID” “First Name” “Common Name” “Second Name”
#Germany
“FAKE_NATIONAL_TEAM” 771 0

#Holland/France
“DISABLE_PLAYER_PICS” 784 0
“DISABLE_PLAYER_PICS” 769 0

#player name changes
“CHANGE_PLAYER_NAME” 1277 “Jens” “” “Mustermann”

Not so much today but in previous versions you couldn’t have Oliver Kahn so change this to

“CHANGE_PLAYER_NAME” 1277 “Oliver” “” “Kahn” (or delete this line completely)

Jens Mustermann is the fake name for Oliver Kahn due to the same image rights restrictions placed on the game.

Enjoy #FM14

or just download all the files from here and place them in your “ALL” folder as above.
